IX. Wallflower

Produced, written, and performed by Steven Kou

I was sent to be in this room

I crawl into this cocoon

and I hope, I hope somebody tugs me

Should I be wrung around, fanned out, or intertwined our bodies tonight?

and I let you hear my message

but you answer in the past tense

and you left me unexpected

only one thing is for certain

I’m holding onto life with my back against the wall

I’m desperate for love while I do nothing at all

and I hope, I hope somebody tugs me

Should I be wrapped around, handed out in a passed-out alley tonight

and I hope, I hope somebody tugs me

Should I be wrung around, fanned out, or intertwined our bodies tonight?

notes:

i came back from japan and made this in july 2026.

also a tribute to the era of dream pop of the 90s.
